The Center for Litigation Trust CLT is set to provide free legal representation to victims of child rights abuse in Mombasa beginning January next year.
The two-month pro bono program targets poor families with children whose rights have been arbitrarily abused and who lack legal representation for justice.
CLT Executive Director Julius Ogogoh said the program will be implemented between January and February 2026 at Tononoka Children's Courts in Mombasa County.
"We have realized that many families are struggling to get legal representation for cases involving abuse of their children, especially in Mombasa. The Center for Litigation Trust is currently working with friendly lawyers to give pro bono to the victims from marginalized communities."
The Center has been at the front line for years to defend communities and individuals facing human rights violations and injustices in Kenya.
"Our team produces in-depth legal analysis to strengthen advocacy and policy reforms in the country," the Executive Director added.
The Center is involved in promoting access to justice for all communities through community engagements, providing strategic legal representation in terms of Court representation, and defending constitutional and human rights in the country.
